Gordon H. Russell, age 82, of State Rte. 226, Dundee, NY passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 10, 2010.

Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of his life on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 10:30 am at the Tyrone United Methodist Church in Tyrone, NY with the Rev. Joseph Auslander and Rev. K. Wayne Butler, officiating.

Gordon was born in Newark Valley, NY on February 26, 1928, the son of the late, Harry and Hattie Mae (Rozelle) Russell.  He was born and raised on the family farm in Newark Valley and graduated from Newark Valley High School.  He served in the US Army during the occupation of Germany and later during the Korean Conflict.  He was employed for 39 years as an apprentice, a lineman, and then a troubleman with Atlantic Electric Co. in Glassboro, NJ and retired in 1988.  He was the owner of Russell Crafts since 1992. He was an avid flower and vegetable gardener and lover of nature and dogs.  He enjoyed doing breakfast and barbeques in Tyrone and sharing "Hairy Stories". Gordon was a member of the Quarter Century ClubGordon and his wife, Adrian, relocated to Tyrone in 1990 to be closer to his family and to be near the Finger Lakes.

Gordon is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Adrienne Russell;  his children, Antoinette (Robert) Morgan and Donald Morse;  his grandchildren, Danielle, Rachel, and Edele Morgan, Alister and Kayleigh Morse; brothers and sister, Martin (Eleanor), Kenneth, and Thelma Russell; special nieces and nephews, Connie (Larry) Koroluck and their children Laura, Sandy (Keith), and Russ (Eileen), Kathy (Ed)Summers and their son, Shane, Donnie (Cindy) Russell and their daughter, Christine; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Vincent, Lillian, Dorothy, Lucy, Helen, Donald, Roger, Blanche, and Mildred; and his sister-in-law, Wilna Russell.
