Emma C. Roccisano, age 75, of Watkins Glen, NY passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Schuyler Hospital in Montour Falls, NY.
Emma's family will receive friends at 9am on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at the Link at St. Mary's of the Lake Church, 905 Decatur St., Watkins Glen, NY. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following at 10am at the Church, with Father Paul Bonacci, celebrant. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her memory to Schuyler Outreach, c/o Catholic Charities of Schuyler County, 607 Franklin St., Watkins Glen, NY 14891 or to St. Mary's of the Lake Church Cemetery Fund, PO Box 289, Watkins Glen, NY 14891, or to the charity of one's choice.
Emma was born in Santa Nicola, Italy on November 3, 1934, the daughter of the late Cosimo and Angela (Dichiera) Manno. She was a cook at Scuteri's in Watkins Glen for many years and cared for many area children in her home. Emma was a long time parishioner of St. Mary's of the Lake Church and was active in the Church's bazaar. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Emma is survived by her son, Joseph (Suzanne) Roccisano of Dunkirk, NY; her daughters, Diana (Robert) Groll of Watkins Glen and Rose (Vince) Barto of Findlay, OH; grandchildren, Megan Groll, Hannah Roccisano, Elise Groll, Amy and Grace Barto; sisters-in-law, Carmela Manno of Akron, OH and Yolanda Smith of Montour Falls; many nieces and nephews; several other relatives in Italy and Australia; and close friends, AJ Peters and Diane Koi-Thompson. In addition to her parents, Emma was predeceased by her husband, Harry F. Roccisano on January 3, 1983; and her brothers, Ottavio and Armando Manno.
